Hamashira


Hamashira is a district on the far southwest side of the Misatsu province; the ruling lady, Makura Kenzi, has been placing annoying (and frankly, embarrassing) requests for assistance.  Because her requests cite that the issue her district is facing, are goblins.

Rule System:  ACKS (Adventurer, Conqueror, King System), specifically the Heroic Fantasy Handbook.  Intention is a low-magic sword and sorcery feel.  See below, some players took it as a challenge.

Paru Twins:  Two templar, blessed with powers from the divine.  

Pinku: An ecclesiast and medic.

Twi Zon:  Scholar, master of lore, and occasional ceremonialist.

Wu Yang:  No, not THOSE Wus, the other Wu family.  Wu Yang is an explorer and troublemaker with skill in navigating and surviving in the wilderness.

Nameless Freelancer:  A freebooter of the expeditionary path, skilled in all manner of outdoor skills, and a credible archer in addition.


Through the (blatant) manipulation of Paru Tsiko, cousin of the Paru twins, the Imperial Church manages for the PCs to travel to the remote region, under the official mantle of the White Skull guild.  Their twin objectives are to deliver a cursed chest filled with supplies for Tatsa the Red (local fire shugenja), and to scout around and handle the dozen or so goblins that Tsiko thinks are causing the inept ruler (Makura Kenzi) to panic.

Save Science City - session 2

Night began with the award of 1XP (it's not small in Mutants and Masterminds) for last session.  This led to the difference between XP for PCs, and CP, intended for players to mandate improvement of the NPCs.  (GM has villain points for nefarious purposes, including development of NPCs, but not a lot of them.) Science City - I'm sorry, you want to know WHAT?

If you ever have doubts about whether your audio was failing, when only two of the eleven questions asked by a player are for new information - you might be a redneck.  I mean, yes, the answer is yes. On the plus side, the informational document on what the players have discovered since the start of the campaign is currently only five pages long, and one page of that is taken up by lawyers.  Go figure, in a campaign to restore faith in a fallen city, the players, half of them federal agents, want to do things by the book.  Show people the system actually can work, and they'll start using and trusting the system again. It's a good plan, full of hope and optimism, and goodness.  It's the plan that heroes would come up with.  It's - it's just not going to be that easy, and I don't think of that as a spoiler.
